Wedding Thank You

Of course, I made Genevieve's thank you notes, too. These were pretty quick cards but pack a big punch - though not necessarily in this picture! There is a pink rose in the middle that kind of faded out in this picture but it is very clear on the actual card. Keeping with the theme of the wedding cards, I used the detail for the rose from A Rose is a Rose. The background swirls on the green cardstock are the same as on the white on the invitation. My Big Shot was put to great use!

August Cards

We made some fabulous cards at my August workshops.
The first card uses the ZigZag technique with striped background papers:

The second card was a 3D card. This picture doesn't do it justice but you get the idea. The back of the card has a scene attached. Both ends have "accordians." The top of the accordian has the frame attached. In the middle is a small strip of cardstock with trees attached so you get depth.

More cards will be posted tomorrow.

Stamps for Sale

I really have to clear out some space in my stamp room. Email me for the spreadsheets of three spreadsheets containing the sets I am (reluctantly) willing to part with. The spreadsheet includes the name of the set, the year it was introduced if available, how many stamps in the set, comments on the condition, and a picture. I can't figure out how to include it on my blog but if I do, I'll post it.

Email me at SusanStamps@hotmail.com if you would like to purchase any sets. Shipping is NOT included. I do accept PayPal.

Happy Stamping!

Wedding Invitation

Genevieve's wedding is over! It was a wonderful ceremony and we had a lot of fun. Here is the wedding invitation:

The small flowers were 3 layers. The large flower had 6. The veins of each leaf were hand-scored by Noel. I used the Eyelet punch for the bottom. I had a stamp made that said "Ryan and Genevieve, August 1, 2009." I used that on the oval punch and layered it over the scallop punch. You can't see from this picture, but the white background was embossed in swirls and flowers.

Here is the inside of the card:

I printed the invitation on Whisper White cardstock, then stamped 3 roses and leaves using very pale colors over the words using just the detail stamps from A Rose is a Rose.

Once Upon a Time

I've been pretty busy looking for a job - that does take up most of my time. It's pretty tedious going from job site to job site and submitting resumes and applications but it must be done...I can't order any more stamps until I get a job!

Fortunately, I have a pretty large stash of stamps to work with. I've been making bridal shower invitations for Genevieve's shower. I used an old favorite with a new set for this card:

Of course, it looks much better in person. It looks kind of fuzzy here but it really isn't. The background images are very crisp.

Enjoy!

Save the Date

Genevieve's wedding is coming up fast! We have all the major items complete. We have chosen the location, the rabbi, the minister, the cake, the DJ, the photographer, and her dress (we've picked that up already and it is gorgeous!) We still need to choose flowers and pick out my dress.

The "save the date" cards are going out this week and the invitations the beginning of June. I can't show the invitations here until they've been mailed, but here is the Save the Date Card:

The colors are not as vibrant here but this is very stunning in person. All items from SU:

Mark the Date stamps
Full Calendar stamps
Calendar Alphabet and Numbers stamps
Mellow Moss c/s for the base (5 1/2" x 5 1/2") and the scallop oval (available April 1)
Whisper White c/s (3" x 3 1/4" and one oval punch)
Ballet Blue c/s (3 1/4" x 3 1/2" and one arrow punch)
Black classic ink
Ballet Blue classic ink
Real Red classic ink
Mellow Moss classic ink
Stampin' UP! Backgrounds 1 texturz plate

The calendar flips up and inside will be a little more info for the guests. This is not a card; I'll put a strip of magnet across the back so guests can put it on the refrigerator.
